I was kinda scratching my head when I left thinking the same thing - but that's what he told me. Take it for what it is I guess. I don't really want to harass this guy, but he did say he would take me for a drive when he gets the pre-release GTR.

I know but the car looks like the sedan -- especially looking back to the rear.

I just noticed the grill is also slightly different than the 07 sedan's. Maybe this one is more durable?

I always thought the G37 coupe was a Siegfried and Roy car. Now it's confirmed. I wouldn't drive that anymore than I would a Lexus SC430. That thing is for 40 something yoga instructors and their boytoys. LOL!

The new 3.7 has all new valve gear that can vary the valve lift and duration. While the displacement increase is almost insignificant, the new valve gear and new heads may be considerably bulkier.

The only thing I can think of that would make it not "fit" may be the configurations for interior room, etc. That isn't a great explanation or anything but I'm thinking this source is likely a good one for information.

Not sure if I buy the 3.7 never fitting into the sedan though. After all, he's not a product manager or on the engineering team.

Nice scoop BTW. So when do you go back there with a digital SLR?

Should have asked him if you can sit and mess around with the tech gears or get a test drive in the car.

Heck of a scoop there! I must say, even on the crappy blackberry pics, the cars shape just doesn't catch my eye. A little like a current gen Honda Accord coupe with a G35 front end? I am sure it's sweet in person?

I'll see if he still has the car today (he usually has them for a few days before he gives them back - but he may have had the car all last week). Not really sure - cause I was in Mexico City for business.

If its still in his driveway, I'll take some high res pics. I just don't want to **** this guy off (as he is a great source of info, and potential future test drives in a GTR).
