faster how so? I'd be willing to bet a coupe g35/37 and 335i are faster around any track than their counterpart sedans. . .

kind of a change of topic, but the 335i coupe v6 has more torque than the up and coming V8 M3???? can anyone make any sence of this for me??

3-series they can fit a 3.7l engine in a sedan. . .

 

The V36 Sedan is around 100 lbs. lighter than the V36 Coupe. He's probably basing his guess on this fact along with the fact that both cars have the same wheelbase and are practically identical in terms of their mechanicals.

Did you just say 335i Coupe V6? Shame on you. SHAME...ON...YOU. Twin Turbos in the 335i are responsible for all that low end torque.

Larger displacement DOES NOT necessarily mean a larger (in terms of external dimensions) engine. The 3.7L in the Coupe is a stroked version of the 3.5L in the Sedan which accounts for the bump in displacement. There is a common misconception amongst folks who don't know too much about engines that larger displacement automatically = a physically larger engine. Not true. Look at the LS7 under the hood of GMs Z06. 7.0L (428 cubes) but the motor shares the same bore spacing with it's lesser (if you can even call anything derived from GMs small block lesser) 6.0L LS2 and 6.2L LS3 brethren.

Ya, BMW has an inline-6, twin turbo'd.
There is a 3 series with a V10 in it.

Cost around $160k delivered, I think.
