Question for all G35X owners.

Hey guys. What tires do you have on your X, stock or did you replace them with something else? And how do they handle in the snow?

Thanx a bunch!

Stock and they dont handle that well in the snow, I would say average at the best.

Run Blizzak WS-50 snows on stock 17" rims for winter and 18"ers in the summer.

I've got the stock for spring/summer.
Bought Blizzaks for winters!

What do the 18s do to your speedometer?

I have Toyo Observe Garit KX snow tires for the winter, they worked out great for me. These tires handle snow and ice with a level of confidence that wouldn't be possible with the stock A/S tires.

For guys with 2 sets of wheels, what do you do about the tire pressure monitors?

Transfer them, buy new ones, or ignore the blinking warning light?

If you go with tires that are the same outside diameter, your speedo will remain the same. For example 225/55/17 is the same OD as 245/45/18 or very close so your speedometer is fine.

I don't bother with sensors in my summer tires. The little dash light stays on but you don't notice it. If you got sensors for both sets you would have to get them paired with the car again at the Dealers(and pay of course) each time you change tires.

I'm loving the idea of getting 18's on new wheels and using the stock 17's for snows, but I'd like to at least wait until these need to be replaced.
Can I expect 30,000?
That's too long to wait!

I used the stock rims for winter with the Toyo Garitt KX, great tires. Winter was a breeze. Summer's are 20" Kumho Ectsta SPT. Awesome tire, handles unbelievably. I don't have sensors on the summers yet. I will check inot it a little more, if they do actually have to be paired or something every time then I will just run them in the summers. Winters are on for a shorter period of time and have more sidewall and cheaper rims.

Stock RS-As. Runs just fine in the snow depending on what kind of "winter" you deal with. You'll find I dont know, maybe 60% or so of the frequent posters in this forum are from Canada/points North or other places with severe winters - just something to keep in mind when you read a response try to match it up with the kind of weather you have. I drove in several storms with the stocks and they were great. However, we dont deal with packed snow/ice on the roads here for more than one or two days at the most so thats not an issue for me. Just something to keep in mind when you here "stocks suck" or "stocks are great". The stocks may suck in Canadian winter conditions but be perfectly fine in a milder winter like DC.

There have been countless threads on this in the past few months.

Stock. Had the car since October 23, drove all winter in Toronto. No problems whatsoever.

Shuric, why are you concerned? Aren't you from California? It snows there?
