Angry G35x "Hot seat"

I just purchased a 2007 G35X last Sat. and have a question about the seats.
After about 20-30min. of driving the seat feels incredible hot against my back. The dealer checked it out and said its not the seat heater but I could buy seat covers and see if that helps. They also reminded me that once I put a tag on the car then it's mine and try to enjoy it. I called Infinity customer support and they claim that this is unheard of. I tried a different car with light grey leather and had the same results. Has anyone else ever had this issue.

Welcome to the forum Bob.

I have not heard any other members having this same issue. If anything, it has been that the seats do not heat up enough. When you say that the seats feel incredibly hot against your back, is this with the seat heaters on or off? I am assuming you mean with the heat seaters turned on, but figured I would verify. Is this with the seat heaters turned on high or low that this is happening?

I'm with Shane , never heard of this problem , only people complaining the seat heaters don't warm up enough.

Welcome to the site and let us know if you get your problem resolved.

Interesting.....I had the same feeling with my '07 G35S. I wouldn't say it felt incredibly hot, but more like the seat heat might be on "low" even when it was off.

What I did was make sure the seat heat was completely off by pulling the seat heater fuse for a day or two. It made no difference, and I have since stopped noticing it.

If you want to try this, you first have to retrieve the fuse puller from the fuse block in the left kick panel, then pull the seat heat fuse from the fuse block under the battery cover. The fuse locations are on the fuse block cover. See owner's manual for details.

Hope this helps.

Thanx for the feedback. The issue is when the seat heater was in the off position. bkrider, did you just leave the fuse out? The dealer checked everything out but if his sales department is indicative of his service department I should probably ck it out myself.

Just to cover all bases, is this your first car with leather seats? Or even first infiniti with leather? Leather tends to heat up and hold he heat more then cloth. I know in my FX I always felt a little heat on my back, but its just because thats the nature of the leather beast.

I pulled the fuse to make sure there wasn't some path for seat heat current even when the switch was in the "off" position. Once I established that pulling the fuse made no difference, I put the fuse back in because it's been so bloody cold in New Engand I wanted to use the heaters.

kre62's comment is correct, leather will tend to feel warmer than fabric once things are warmed up. I wonder if the Infiniti seat construction provides more (inadvertant) insulation than other seats?

I've had leather in every car/truck that I've purchased in the last 25 yr. I know that it feels like there is extra padding in the seat and that may be it.
