Cars these days are build like shyt, especially nissan/infiniti. Doing headlights on a bunch of g35's, and stripped these cars to bare metal on the front ends... I've noticed that from 03 to 07, the quality cheapened up like CRAZY. The build quality of 03/04 cars is so much better compared to the 05/06 and 07.
OMG!!
I took a sledgehammer to my hood and it LEFT A DENT!!! INFINITI SUCKS!!!
C'mon guys. Get real. Chipped paint not attended to WILL RUST. Any car. well, maybe not the DeLorean.

LOL... did you guys skip science class?
Update: I took it to the dealer and i have an appointment for next wednesday. I understand totally what you guys are saying about a chip past the primer will rust, but its in such a strange spot i have trouble wondering how it happened. Pics will explain and i will have them tomorrow, its raining here in NY so i cant take them right this second. Id like to believe that i drive at such velocity that the paint just flies off but we all know its not that. How our they going to fix this? Whole panel needs to be repainted? This could be a real mess, I guess ill see what infiniti will do to resolve this.
Paint these days is not as durable as it used to be... manufacturers can't use the same carrier chemicals when they paint the car because it hurts the environment. There are only a few paint companies out there, and all manufacturers use paints from these companies, such as PPG.

On another note, I too have heard that paint isn't as hard as it used to be, because now it is water based and not chemical based.
However, I was told that only OEM paint was that way, so when I had a front bumper cover custom made I asked the body guy to use the best paint possible. I don't think he would have went cheap on me, but I can't tell any difference in the 'high quality' paint vs. OEM paint.

- guess we better stop washing it.
