adaptive transmission
As I'm just through the break-in period, I'm pushing the car harder now and having some fun.
It was cool to note the car's behaviour today after turning hard and fast onto a highway onramp and a progressively harder to full-out acceleration out of the apex and onto the highway. As happens in traffic, I had to also quickly back-off to merge and I was interested to note how aggressively the transmission responded in terms of a very sporty rev-matching downshift and high-rev gear-hold for as if preparing for the next pounce on the throttle. This aggressive transmission mode continued for a few quick lane changes, acceleration, braking, and re-acceleration moves...until I was steady on the throttle and in lock step with the traffic for a minute or so. Then it seemed to relax again, even though still in DS mode. Very cool...very intuitive. And I'm still grinning.

It was good enough to convince me to give up the stick, my last auto tranny was my '94 Z-28 (which was replaced with a '96 6 SP as soon as my dealer had one) my wife hates autos, but she is getting used to the on in the G.
