Official 2007 Infiniti G35 Negotiated Deal Thread
#482
For the NJ people:
My father and I went to Ray Catena Infiniti and drove a G35Sport Auto around the Bound Brook/Green Brook area on 22.
The salesman quoted a price of a fully loaded G35 Sport Auto w/o active steer for roughly $39,800 or so.
Because of my dad's employer (seems like many of you have VPP discounts), we automatically get below invoice. 1.65% to be exact. So he computed a bunch of numbers:
Invoice: $35692.00
VPP Discount: -$588.92
Subtotal: $35103
Now you add the bunch of fees and what not and the price balloons back up to a grand total of $36780.66
Is that a good price for a nearly fully loaded G35S Auto?
Any experiences w/ Ray Catena?
We recently moved and we use to live a bit farther north so I know about the Infiniti dealer in Summit. Douglass Infiniti is dwarfed by Ray Catena in size but I could care less as long as service quality is high.
There's Ramsey Infiniti all the way up north
Salerno Duane use to sell just Jeeps and Fords in the Summit/Springfield/New Providence area but it was just recently that I found out that they sold Infinitis too. Any insight on them?

I am just now getting into the market for G35 Sport Sedan 6MT w/ premium package and I am wondering if I could get some insight (particularly from those in the Houston area) as to the type of deals that have closed on this vehicle recently (purchase, not lease). I have spoken with all Infiniti internet sales and the best I have gotten via email is approximately $1700 over invoice without going in to really talk numbers. All feedback appreciated.

Regarding Douglas Infiniti, I originally asked for e-quotes through Edmunds.com from dealers in my area as I thought the new G would not fall under VPP. The response from Douglas Infiniti was to send me an e-mail telling me to call them to set up an appoitment to come in (If I wanted to come in, I would have, what dealership do I need an appointment to go to????). Their second response basically said, in fairly nasty terms, I did not provide enough information for a quote, and based on my location I would probably just use the quote to get a lower price from a dealr located closer to my home. I responded that I worked in the area of their dealership and have bought more than 1 car in Summit, NJ in the past. They then responded that I should come in to discuss, still no quote. I then responded that they no longer needed to contact me as I viewed their responses as non-responsive and I copied the dealership sales manager (who sent me an e-mail asking about my experience with their Internet Sales Department). I never got any response from teh dealership, but to this day I get 1 to 2 e-mails a week from Douglas Infiniti, basically spam, either asking me if I am ready to buy, or telling me about special sale they are having. I would not deal with Douglas as they seem like a typical "old school" dealership.

The MSRP on my car was $40,765 and according to a few other "competitive" dealers, the true invoice was $37,079.
Worth mentioning that I also got the 84mo/100k extended warranty for $1884. The technology in this car makes me a tad nervous...
