That's the issue I have with the 3-Series. I'm currently shopping between the 3-Series and G35. The 328 is $5000 more than the G35 with the same options and less power. The 335 is $9000 more. I can't justify that amount of difference with my wallet so it looks like I'm going with the G35.Originally Posted by sjharris
The 330i is great though. I test drove one when I got my G. I liked it more but it would have been quite a bit more than my G with the options I wanted (and the 335xi wasn't out yet which is what I would have wanted). The ride and handling were like no other.

You won't be disappointed in the G. A buddy of mine has a great quote. He is a big BMW guy. He has an M3, M5 and a 330ci.Originally Posted by alex2364

He says
"The Infiniti is 9/10 of the performance of the BMW for 7/10 of the price"
I wasn't going to post an update till I heard a little more next week.
They didn't get the car fixed on the 45th day, so I have been talking to an Infiniti customer care person who has been coordinating a repurchase for me. Initially, I was told that I had two options: a replacement vehicle or a repurchase (refund). According to the Infiniti lady though, the dealership was not working with them to provide any replacement options that would have been favorable for me. So they pursued the repurchase avenue instead. I am supposed to get my repurchase offer in the mail early next week.
Hopefully, the offer will be a good one. They need to cover the cost of the vehicle, tag, title, tax, and at least some of my hassles or I am going to be upset. I originally ordered the car on December 5th....over 5 months later and I am forced to buy a new car again.
During the three days that I got to drive this car I was very happy with it. I liked the exterior and interior (platinum graphite, washi and graphite). I enjoyed driving it. I liked the tech features (nav system, backup camera). I was happy with my choice. Now that I am forced into buying a new one I am still interested in the exact model with the exact features and options which might unfortunately mean that I have to order a new one. The thought of waiting several months for an order though is definitely making me consider other vehicles.

Don't have your expectations set too high. They are under no obligation to offer "hassle" compensation. They do have to offer you the costs for the vehicle (including finance charges), less a mileage allowance. Since you only had the car three days, the mileage allowance should be next to nothing.
I suspect that the marketplace has changed since you were first looking for your car. Finding a platinum graphite with NAV, TECH should not be that difficult. I would definitely find another dealership after the way they botched this deal.
Good luck and I hope it works our for you.

Not sure how much of the fault lies with the dealership .... the car looks like a result of a major screwup that happened in the factory (not PDI or anything like that)Originally Posted by mbonus

In any case, I hope the OP gets a good offer on the repurchase.

Very much looking to see what they did for you..... I may be in the same boat shortly........ not for the time it took to do something but > how many times they are fixing the same thing<.......Originally Posted by Mayor McCheese

I received a repurchase offer just today and I am very disappointed. It covers the purchase price but does not cover the tag, title, tax, registration fees. If I accepted the offer as is I would basically be losing $1400 and that doesn't even include the indirect costs I have incurred from this process. I am hoping there has just been a misunderstanding. The customer care person asked me to fax the retail purchase statement, but never asked for my receipt from the tag agency. I am calling the nissan aribitration specialist tomorrow to talk about it. By law, they have to cover the tag, title, tax, and registration fees- this is spelled out specifically.
If it's just a misunderstanding then I will probably buy a new G35 still. If it's not and I am just being jacked around, then I won't be buying another Infiniti or Nissan product for the rest of my life.

I see... I am surprised your tags, and other fees are so little, At my time of purchase, all those fees were about $2500.00!!!!
This is obviously a very bad situation... and i sincerely hope that there has been an misunderstanding.... and also hope that even though these dealers hate to do things like this, it still sells cars > IF < they do whats right, I have restraind from bad mouthing Infiniti... and there service... To all who ask about the car, It is the Dealership service dept. that has compromised my car.......

My state has a relatively low tax on new cars, but a very poor lemon law I discovered.Originally Posted by Triton3.5

Exactly.....comparing the 335 to the G is a little bit of apples to pears comparison - Try getting a fully loaded 335 for under $40,000.!Originally Posted by alex2364

When I was shopping around I compared a 328 xi with Nav and premium (which still didn't have many of the tech options I wanted on the G) and it came to about 2-3,000 more. I liked the way it drove but the interior is a bit too old school for my taste.

If you are willing to disclose, what state are you located in? I'm in MN and based on the research that my wife has done, we have a pretty good lemon law and ours does specially spell out what is covered. The dealer is required by law to disclose what is covered in the lemon law in MN at the time of purchase.Originally Posted by Mayor McCheese
