My wish list for '08 changes are
1) Six speed auto
2) Better nick resistant grill
3) Driver-preferred imaging on SOW, whatever the heck that means, if its driver oriented, I like it.
4) More interior wood choices
5) A blazing new copper color

Well, as the old theory goes, it's always better to get the 2nd year that a new model comes out, since, theoretically most of the 1st model year's bugs would have been ironed out when on the 2nd year. But, the 2007 G35 was just too tempting to wait another year. Besides, my old car wasn't doing too well, and I couldn't wait another year. The other school of thought is, if you get a new model on the 1st year it is out, you have a longer period of time until the next major model comes out. For you, if you can wait until the Fall, the decision may not be easier. You'll probably get a better deal on an '07 by then, since dealers would be wanting to get rid of the '07 line for the '08.
When I brought my G35 to the dealer the other week for its 1st oil change, there was a guy there buying the 2007 coupe. Another salesman inside the dealership said that he couldn't wait for the 2008. I almost felt sorry for him, given that the '08 is quite a bit different than the '07 coupe. I guess he needed a car right away.

08 G35
The 08 model will have a 4 piston calipers for the front and 2 piston calipers for the rear--that is the only changes I know as of now. If you are looking for a auto tranny, Infiniti is working on a 7-speed that will probably be available for the 09 model!

First I was thinking STi or Evo. Then for the same price, wow, not even close. G35 all the way.
Hopefully in a year or two we will be both active members here and owners of G35's.

I second the idea of year 2 being somewhat improved with many of the bugs ironed out. In addition, by waiting a few extra months, the 08 will not be a year old as soon as you leave the showroom. Even with dealer incentives, the depreciation on the 07 will be considerable over the 08. Besides, these cars have cooled off enough now to get a great deal on all the sedans, even the 08. I'm sure you will be able to order the 08 (when the ordering begins) and get it for a great price.

there really aren't that many bugs with the 07 model as far as i can see. They're just minor superficial ones that don't require invasive surgery. Only one person here got total failure with the G.
If you look at the recent lexus cars, particularly the GS or ES, they've either got a crapload of rattles within the first several thousand miles, or mechanical /engine bugs.
