Paddle w/ Auto or 6MT?????
I'm young and single, so I need the 6MT. It helps to boost my virility. Hahah... It also prevents a lot of my friends from wanting to drive it, because they don't know how to.
auto all the way...well lets just say i know this guy that has a Auto and a guy that has a 6speed and they both raced and the 6 speed did not pull that hard on the guy with the auto...but when the guy with the auto adds a header and intake with the exhaust he already has the guy in the 6speed wont see him
haha
but let me say the paddle is smooth

honestly i was on the fence about this as well....the paddles seemed like it would be decent without a clutch....
but after 1 test drive it was 6mt all the way....i seriosly would have slapped myself if i ended up gettin the auto i know i would have regretted it.
Not knockin anyone who has the auto...its just not for me.

The question should include your driving requirements. I drive a 6MT and love it... but I have a home office with no commute and I live in Fort Worth with virtually no hills. If you have a commute in traffic or lots of hills, get the auto. Joel
i live in ft lauderdale fla where most of the day is consumed with stop and go traffic...it gets to be a pain in the ***, like i said befor the only time i can really open up my car is at night
I test drove both the AT and 6MT. While I prefer the 6MT, I wish the shifter were better like the Acura TSX or Honda S2000's. It's tough to get a smooth launch out of the first gear. For me, the ideal transmission would be Audi/VW DSG. It's a true manual.
Does anyone know if Infiniti is working on fixing or upgrading the MT for model year 2008 or future models?

lol yea true, i can always upgrade in the next 2-3 years after the lease is up, we will see on signing day...im gonna test drive probably 2-3 more times lol its very difficult for me 2 make a decision unless i go over it 100x, i make sure i will be COMPLETELY happy with everything

It's really about the experience...
I LOVE MTs - but also live in a traffic hell area.
The Sport AT was a good middle ground for me. And this AT in the G is spectacular. But do I sometimes miss shifting? Yup.

i choosed auto, i love the 6mt but in canada if i choose 6mt i cannot add technology package which i really really want it, but if i can add technology package on the 6mt 6mt will be my first choice
I'm also in the camp of "if you have to ask, get the auto".
The 6MT is not impressive compared to most other luxury sport cars (or even compared to a miata). I've *always* driven stick, so I went with the 6MT because manually shifting defines "driving" for me, versus merely traveling. However, I have a hard time recommending the G35's 6-speed setup due to the vibration. I don't believe there's any practical or performance advantage to the manual transmission these days, you just have to "want" it.
