whoa. this just happened to me last night and i was just gonna post about it!

 

I just filled up my gas for the first time yesterday and that thing broke off and I was thinking what a cheap crap they used. I was going to post about it too. This isn't DIY, right? The dealer should fix this $hit.

 

Good to know. Gotta keep an eye on mine.

 

dealer said the part is on backorder, could be 2 weeks before they get one in.

 

Mine broke in early October...then I got it replaced just 3 weeks ago. Working perfect since.

 

Mine broke the second time I used it. I just installed a small nut and bolt and it is better than new.

Mine broke so I cut off the tether. I don't need no steenking tether...

 

My plastic rivet broke the first fill up. I find it easier to fill up wihtout the strap in place. The gas cap gets in the way!

Almost a year old and still holding good.
