Music Box Question

After loading a CD (2 CD 'Best of David Bowie') into my Music Box, I notice something odd when I scrolled thru the Music Box menu. Several songs, I think 6 songs actually, had a red circle with a line thru it in the margin next to the song. It appeared that the song was not available. However, the song played and pulled up info for the track name. I deleted the CD and then resaved the info only to have the same thing appear.
Does anyone have any insight as to why this is? I could not locate any information in the manual as to why this was occuring.
FYI - this was a purchased CD set and not a burning CD.

Very strange, I've never seen any red circle on any of the albums I've burned to the MB.

It happens when your CD is a little bit bad. I have it on a Bach CD of mine and I noticed it had a lot of difficulty playing the first few tracks, stopping a lot, then starting again. It managed to get through it after a while but these tracks then had the red circles on the music box. They seem to sound OK when played, but there is probably some loss in the transfer.

Somewhat off topic but kinda not - anyone have store bought discs that the CD player can't read? I have one CD that the last track will not transfer to the MB - it just hangs and one CD today that I was trying to do would not even recognize as a real CD.

Never had that happen, and I've got the MB about 3/4 full. Another question? Are there no sub-folders on the MB? When I have multiple albums from the same artist, and I search by artist, it just lists all the songs in a huge line. Is this just another design flaw?

This may make the most sense. The disc is older (maybe 3 or 4 years) and has some wear on it. BUT the playback is still good on those tracks.
Just thought that this was weird.
Thanks for the insight.

Yeah...found the same. It just 'lumps' all of the artist's albums together. Just alittle more work to cycle thru to get to the album you want.

Agreed, it is really annoying. I usually search by album and then change the sort to artists, that way I get to see all albums in artist order. The biggest problem of course is that you can not do this (or almost anything else) while driving.

This is my biggest complaint! I haven't gone through all of the voice command things yet but I'm hoping there is a voice command that will help with this. Hell, I would be happy if it would just organize them in some kind of order so you can spin the tuner **** and have some idea what is coming up next. That you can at least do while driving.

Granted, it is not ideal, but it's workable.

What I ended up doing is this, and seems to work best for me, especially while driving...

1) For the music box, I leave it permanently sorted by Album...that way I can see a large number of tracks listed at once, can easily change tracks, and can easily jump to a previous or next album (with the turn of the Tune/Folder ****..or just holding down the steering wheel enter key for one second - either up or down). Granted I do not know what the next Album will be, other than an educated guess as its alphabetic, but I dont really care as the only reason I am changing albums is because I am not in the mood for the current one.

2) For the CF card, whch I like best, as I have the most control over, its sorted by Artist (as that's how I created the folders). In a similar vane, once again, this way I can see the greatest number of tracks listed at once, can easily change tracks, and can easily jump to a previous or next artist.
