What I eventually realized is I'm apparently in a rush to get out of the car since it beeps every time.

I employ specialized selective hearing techniques that I learned from my father, I don't even notice the beeping anymore.

its just beeping because the key is "left in the ignition". The key is normally in your pocket, but its just letting you know the key is still in the car plain and simple. Just like if you had a regular turn key setup...it does the same thing when you leave the key inside and open the door.

yeees, but if you have a turn key, all you have to do to shut off that sound is take your key out.

me, sometimes i open my door after turning my car off, and I need to be around the car doing things, like taking things out of the passenger compartment, putting them in my trunk, etc. sometimes i like leaving my door open, and i dont like it when it beeps.

I mean I'm not going to bitch about it any more, I wanted to see if it was fixable.. I am always always of the opinion that products should always adapt to fit all their users' particular quirks and preferences, not the other way around. Now that I know the problem is not fixable, however, I'll probably try to restrain my door-opening-before-car-turning-off habit.

I have learned to ignore it but I wish I could turn it off because it just doesn't make sense to me. If I leave the keys in the car, I can't lock it with the key, with the remote or with the request button... So why would it need to "yell" at me.

It is also a different beep if the lights are on or the car isn't in park.

Easy fix, if you open the door before turning it off, close the door then reopen it.

rite...but with an I-key think of it as the key is never "out of the ignition"...capiche?

This is annoying. I've turned the car off, put away my sunglasses and opened the door and still had it go off. I think it's a combination of foot on brake pedal applying pressure all the way through and up to about 2-3 seconds after the car shuts off. then you won't get the beep. it's not just the car shutting down.

But even more annoying then this is the fact you can't use the door handle button to lock the doors until everyone has closed there doors otherwise it really goes haywire with fast beeping for 2 seconds, real "F you a-hole, why did you push the button!!!?!?!" That's very unnecessary.

Love the car, rarely ever think of this and the other nuisances, but they could really achieve near perfection with about 30 minor inexpensive faults being addressed, but I don't think they will react on this model at all.
