Does the car beep at you when you shut it off?

Forgive me, I just got the car on saturday and I havent had time to go through the manual yet. With that out of the way...

Everytime I park the car, hit the "stop" button and open the door the car beeps at me as if I have the key in the ignition(its usually in my cupholder). Is this normal? I always feel like im leaving something on like a light or something. Thanks guys.

Yes it's normal. It's just the key reminder chime. Either that or you left the button on ACC mode or left the shifter on any other gear other than Park. If you want to read about it it's on page 2-20 of the manual or page 3-13.

Thanks! So everytime that I shut the car im leaving it in ACC mode? Do I have to hit it twice to completely shut it off or something?

I usually hit the stop button once, get out of the car and lock the doors. Is this ok to do?

Yes, it's because you're leaving the key inside. It will also happen if you're like me, and start opening the door BEFORE you hit the ignition button to switch off the engine.

It's just trying to tell you to get back in the car and keep driving it.

If they only had mid-drive refueling rigs we'd never had to stop driving!!

I couldnt figure out why mine was beeping at me...then I noticed my wife turned on the headlights (instead of the auto lights) and the chime was on...I felt stupid....(not as stupid as the wife when she said "Its too hard to hold the gas cap while I'm filling up because of the plastic strap"...then I explained the door holder...........)

We all hate it. And since we're all ignoring it, how will we know when something really is wrong?

It's the car that beeped wolf.

Here's the deal on the beep:

Push button to turn car off and open door: no beep.
Open door, then push the button: beep.

Conclusion: Car beeps only when door opened before turning it off.

Kromax is right. Doesn't bother me at all - kinda use to it.
