radar mirror mount in '07

Does anyone have an Escort 8500 mounted on the rearview mirror? If so, any thoughts or recommendations regarding this setup? Pics?

Thanks

curious of this as well. ultimately when i get the G37 (same interior) i'd like to mount my 8500 directly above the mirror for a more stealth look. is this possible, i.e. is there enough room?

I'd be surprised if there was enough room above the mirror. In my 06 sedan the sunglass cubby is right above the mirror and my V1 won't fit.

V1 and Escort won't fit above. And I think all the stealth integrations of the V1 concealed display into the mirror that I've seen are ridiculously expensive.

I have Mike's mount and have my 8500 attached to the rearview mirror shaft and using the Invisicord. Clean and simple and it's not going anywhere.

Is there a way to silence the beeping when you don't have the cigarette lighter plug-in? It seems that might be annoying.

Cool. That is exactly what I want to do. I take it you are pleased with that setup? Any pics? What size mount is required? Thanks for any info!

-- edit --

I suppose you could run the remote somewhere and mount it closer, but at the end of the day I just reach up and hit the mute.

I'm happy with it, although I ordered the wrong mount the first time around. You need the 15/16 oval mount for the 07 G35x. Not sure if the coupe or the other sedans have different shafts, but that's what I needed -- the other one was waaaaaaay too small.

The Invisicord is alright, but you have to be careful with the connectors. Even using the thinner ones that are supposedly for Infiniti mirrors, it still scares you the first time you jam the connectors in there. And they're finicky so if you keep messing with them then they will break.

Still, the setup is clean and there's no cords hanging around and no suction cups, so I'm very happy with it. No pictures but I can probably take a few later.

The mirror used in the 2007 G35 with premium package is different than the mirror used w/o premium package (the one w/ the premium package has remote control garage door buttons, compass, etc.). I don't know if the 2 mirrors have the same shaft or not. Do you have the premium package mirror?

Also, does anyone with the Escort 9500i know if it works w/ Mike's mount?

I have the Premium/nav/etc, so that's probably why. I would measure first before ordering just in case.

Not sure about the 9500i... it depends on its mount I suppose. The way Mike's Mount works is you remove the suction cups, and it comes with screws so you screw the radar (mount and all) to Mike's, then that wraps around the mirror shaft.

If the 9500i mount is the same as the 8500 mount (if the suction cups are in the same place, for example) then it should fit.

I would email Mike and find out for sure though... mike3348@adelphia.net

The Escort 8500 x50 and the 9500i use the same accessories (according to Escort's web site). They use the same Escort-supplied mounts. From the pictures I've seen in other threads, the top of the Escort 8500 X50 is fairly close to the bottom of the rearview mirror, so I'm curious if any potential size differences are enough to make a difference when using Mike's mount. I've seen the 9500i in Best Buy, and without actually measuring it, it appears to be about the same size as the 8500.

From the pictures I've seen it looks like it could fit without an issue. The 9500i is not that much different from the 8500 and there's room between my 8500 and the mirror. You could fit a V1 down there (Mike makes mounts for V1s too) and you know those things are like a shoebox.

But at the end of the day it's just $20. Can't kill you just to try it
