intelligent cruise control and Valentine 1

sorry if this has been asked, I couldn't find it on a search.
There has been a question in the coupe section over weather or not the ICC will interfere with a V1? and if it does can you disengage the ICC. the same question has been asked about jammers.

For those that currently have ICC, do you know the answers?
thanks

well the ICC only engages it self when you turn it on to cruise. Other than that its not turned on in regular street driving. If you have ICC then that was pointless of me telling you that But i see your point. You probably wanna take a road trip and cruise above the speed limit and u want to have ur radar on. Thats a good question, ill have to try it out.

Well where are the sensors for ICC located? I don't have it but I would imagine that this is not meant for 1500-2000 feet use like LIDAR, is it?

If they're more close range and the bounce from the laser doesn't strike the V1 then you should be ok... but somebody's gonna have to experiment and see.

Jammers are another story though... IF ICC messes with the V1, you'll get false laser alerts whenever you use it. As bad as that is, it's much worse than what a jammer would do if it does interfere...

Exactly! I was the one in the g37 coupe section who has been asking this question about jammers. Others have jumped on with questions with ICC and the V1, but I already know that (although rare) the ICC will set off LASER alerts on a RD.

However, that is merely detection of laser. A jammer is actually interfering or altering LIDAR.... not just detecting. I have searched the sedan forums as well for this, but it looks like i may just hafta find out what happens if i ever get my G37.

Another question i had was, how difficult do you sedan owners with ICC think it would be to actually remove the ICC module from the front bumper of the car? I think it's an eyesore, and don't intend to use it.

Can you activate cruise controll without ICC being engaged. In other words, can u just flip a switch to turn ICC off and on, while keeping CRUISE on?

That's easy enough to find out... find someone with ICC and someone with a jammer and have them play chicken and see.

The preview braking is on all the time... it uses the ICC sensor - just a heads up.

LOL

I will be installing jammer heads and now it looks like i will getting the ICC since they kept the packages the same for the coupe as they were for the sedan (i.e backup cam comes with Tech package, not Nav package as was initially announced.)

It concerns me that ICC is ALWAYS shooting a laser beam as G-Whizzer reports.

Still, same question tho.... any thoughts on removing the ICC system alltogether, or at least cutting power to it or somthing?

Oh wow... so you're just spouting out laser like a bastard all over the road all the time? That sucks...

You guys are so inconsiderate...

You can always pull the fuse...

I'm sure the whole setup is separate and fused on its own, so you can pull it and see.

I'm glad I didn't get the Tech Package on my sedan then... my jammer wouldn't appreciate it at all.

Oh hahah. you have a jammer! What kind? Details? Saves?

I reeeally want the backup cam tho... are you happy without having that feature? I wasn't planning to get TECH till they changed up the packages on us for the G37.

I'm going to browse for pics... but meanwhile, does anyone have or know of any GOOD pics showing the ICC head in the front bumper?

No saves... most of the saves come from my Passport and Ka. But I haven't taken a serious trip through LIDAR country yet. Either way, it's one of those things that you'd much rather have and not need, than need and not have...

I'm perfectly happy without the backup camera (I know how to park) and ICC (I never use regular CC anyway). And it seems like Preview Braking would just **** me off the way I drive...

The one thing I wish I had was adaptive lights, but even then that's "cool" and not "must have" in my book. I waited 4 days for my car and got what I wanted... I'd much rather do that than wait 4 months to get ICC and a backup camera.

I have a Blinder M20. I was gonna get an M40 for the 2 additional sensors but I figured if they got me with laser from behind I'm screwed anyway.

That may be accurate, but apparently the laser is engaged more often? My V1 is constantly set off by Infiniti QX54s (think that's the right model name), and it reads a laser signal. Since this is on back roads in stop-and-go traffic, doubt it's cruise control?

Right. Could be this maybe:
