Navigation Security/Safety

Anyone else fed up with that black screen that comes up on the nav system every time you start the car? Ya know that Warning screen. I find it extremely annoying. Also I find it extremely annoying that you cant do certain things while driving, even if it is at 5 mph. The car has to be at a complete stop. For instance you cant search through your albums in the music box or scroll through all the possible nearby points of interests while the car is moving.

Anyway, my point to this little outburst was to ask if anyone knows how to turn off the security/safety features of the navigation system so we can do whatever we want whenever we please and for the love of God is there a way to get rid of that annoying black warning screen...??

You know you can push in the enter button on your sterring wheel to press the "enter" on the warning screen. I know its not the same thing as getting rid of the warning screen but its better than pressing the button on the screen with your finger. As to a bypass, some people are waiting for someone to be able to do it, although some people on here are happy that there's this lockout. Its been argued & debated that its unsafe, etc etc , many times over.

I agree with hitting the enter button on the steering wheel, it's pretty fast and simple. The warning screen pops up right after starting, much better compared to my previous Acura TL which took about 20 seconds before popping up.

KP Technologies has a Nav "ok" bypass module .... don't know how it works on the '07 - you can email the mfr directly (he posts on this forum)

I don't get bothered by the nag screen on start -- its easy enough to dismiss it (yes I would rather not have it come on in the first place - but that's the price we pay for being in a lawsuit happy society !)

As far as using the other Nav functions, it is also a result of NNA covering their behinds .... what can you do ???
I mean a passenger should be allowed to work the controls - oh well !!!
