My Dyno Day @ SR MotorCars (Video Clip Fixed)

Just wanted to share my dyno results. Let me know what you think. By the way the only mod is a Stillen Catback Exhaust.

Steve & Co. @ SR MotorCars were excellent hosts. Be sure to check them out!

Yea? Where the Sheet of Results? LOL. think you forgot them

Really want to see if an Exhaust really make any noticeable gains?

is it me or do those numbers look a little low? Also are you 6mt or 5at?

I could of sworn i seen some bone stock vq35HR dyno results that the HP was somewhere in the 280 range and the torque was around 240-250.

could be a low reading dyno, hence the problem with posting numbers from different dyno's. i wish they had some sort of industry standard for calibrating these things..

nice, thats about what i expected. i still think the exhaust will not provide any significant gains unless full boltons are added(including cams/tune-whenever that becomes available). there might be a fuller power curve in the top 2k rpm, but the torque will definately come down at the low rpms from the loss of backpressure. i would guess 3-4 hp near redline and a few hp just before peak hp is hit.

i know they sound amazing!

this is the first car i have owned that seems to be engineered to the maximum balanced power output from the factory with the current internals/intake/headers setup. we need a supercharger setup ASAP!

I have a 5AT, result will be lower in an automatic. Do you recall where you seen the 280 range. If so provide the link or have your car dynoed for comparison.

Did you have a run on the same dyno before you installed the exhaust? All of these say "Stillen Exhaust".

Unfortunately this was the first and only time the car was on the dyno. I'm not sure what the car would set as a baseline. However Stillens claim of an ~8hp gain seems to be far fetched.

That looks about right. IS350s with about the same hp are dynoing around 260 to the wheels on a dynojet.

Not sure what happened to the sound when I converted the file. Do you know what software everyone uses when downloading from a video camera and converting to a viewable file? Please advise.

I'll try to get it fixed. Sorry!

I thought the tq would be a tad higher, specially with the cat-back. 260-270ish sounds about right counting the drivetrain loss.

yea that torque number is really what bothered me...thats pretty low. The 335's are torquin to the wheels somethin like 270 i think.
