I felt like an old man until I saw Ctomsee's post.
I'm 36... paid cash for mine.

I'm reading posts from guys who are 18-20 years old.
I would have given anything for a car like this at that age.

I did have a brand new car at 18, which I paid for myself, but it was a $16,000 1989 Chevy Z24.
Doesn't even come close to the caliber of the G, but I loved it all the same.

Yeah I hear yah, my first car was a Tercel, however my parents paid for it.

I love reading these posts about 20-25 year olds saying, "But I pay for it myself, and insurance too"

I used to be in that boat, and had nice cars which was my only expense. However, I bought my 04 G35 @ 21 and it was my first expensive car which I paid for; at the time I was renting and paying for all of the expenses associated with having a pulse; now I'm on my second G35. I just can't justify spending more than 40k for a car, even though now I make a good 60% more than I did when I was 21. Of course now there's a home and other things sucking down the money.

Enjoy only the car payment while it lasts

I'd be rolling a 997 TT if I was living with my parents and only worrying about a car payment

You seem to have a need to be recognized for how your vehicle was paid for, both at age 36 and at age 18. And how does that make you feel?

well im 23 and i lease mine. this is now my third lease...before my 05 maxima it was all decent but older cars. I however dont receive any financial assitantce from my parents, becasue they cant not because they dont want to. I just happen to fall into the rite business and my hard work payed off.
Hopefully at 24 I can say I own my own house, but thats going to be a big push being the prices for homes in ny.

The smarter move when i got the good job would have been stick with an older paid for car and bank even more money, but i figured after all the years of seeing kids my age rockin brand new cars that there parents own, Id spoil myself.

I'm a 56 year old 07 G35 S 6MT driver. My first Nissan/Infiniti. Past history is manual tranny since I was 19, an orange 1970 2002 BMW that my Dad bought me (under $3000 new!) Since then Toyotas and VW's out of my pocket.

Love the "G." Power, heft and responsiveness with a nice hit of luxury.

Yeah, the after market wood gives my age away.

Old fart speaks out

I'm 52 and this is my first G, hell, it's my first sports sedan. I decided to liven things up a bit because I got tired of seeing all the old farts driving Lexuses (Lexi?). Now you kids are probably going to say that about me. Oh well. Better to be an old fart in a G than a Lexus.
