Not sure if this topic has been raised before?
What's happing is when I copy mp3s to my CF card not all the songs display. I put the songs I want into a directory on my computer and then copy the directory to my CF card by copy and pasting the directory through explorer.
On the computer I see all the mp3 songs there but when I put the card in the car, some of the songs are missing?

Anyone have a clue what's happening?

Do you have more than 512 files on your CF card? If so, that's the issue.

 

... or more than 256 folders....

 

Here's the restrictions from the G35 manual:

With navigation system:
Folder levels: 8, Folders: 255 (including root folder), Files:
512 (Max. 255 files for one folder)

Without navigation system:
Folder levels: 8, Folders and files: 999 (Max. 255 files for
one folder)

 

I only have 4-5 folders and no more than 200 files in total within the folders.
I'll have to play around with it. Seemed to have started when i got my new computer with one of those all in one card readers built in.

I see that you mentioned that the CF can have 8 folder levels. I tried using a CF the other day, and create a directory structure with two levels - the first was the artist, the second was the album. When I loaded the CF in the car, it seems like it only shows the last level folder (the folders that contain the songs) and doesn't allow you to navigate the folder structure. Am I doing something wrong, or is this how it works?
