Where is the automatic transmission dipstick?

Where is the automatic transmission dipstick? Or is there another method for checking level, color and smell of automatic fluid? I had not thought about it until I did an oil change this morning. I looked around engine bay and didn't see anything. I didn't find anything in service manual as well.

Thanks!

Interesting ... pg 8-12 of ops manual says let dealer chack ATF level. I guess they must have buried it in there somewhere.

Its in the back,,,, 10 mm bolt to undo it... its slightly easier when you take of cosmetic, engine cover... slightly on pass. side...

Interestingly, Canadian G's (and M's) come with a proper handled dipstick complete with the 10mm hold down bolt, which can be purchased to replace the US version that has no handle and is not meant to be checked by the owner.....
Not sure why they do that but they do.

The fill tube is in the same place, but with the handle on the dipstick, it makes its removal very easy...

Anyone know how to properly read the dipstick level? Should it be within the area labeled "HOT" or should it be in the crosshatched section? My fluid was way above the crosshatched section all the way up to were the dipstick starts the S shaped bend.
I am checking it after having driven at least 10 minutes. I pull onto a flat surface and shift through P,N,D,R... then leave the car idling and check it. Is this correct????????????
