With the Canadian dollar at a 30 year high have any Canadians considered purchasing their G in the US?

Are there any taxes or fees that make this cost prohibitive when you bring the car back?

 

I looked at doing this but not when the dollar was this high. The main reason I didnt get it in the US was because after you add up all the duty,paper work, exchange and time, the costs was about the same. It would be different if the car was made in the US because then there is no duty.

 

also, the fact that any warranty work has to be paid up front and then the owner has to submitt a claim to infiniti USA and then wait for reimbursement.

i'm just ticked off that you can't get the G fully speced(active steer and tech together) in canada. but i will try my hardest to be the first to do so.

 

^^ I think you can... the original dealer that we went to said you could. Didn't ask on availability however. Just know that you can do it.

 

i sure hope so, since we are saving a tonne of money by not going with a fully speced 335i sedan, we may as well get the active steer.

 

Here are some web links to help you out but i would check with Infiniti Canada and your local dealer to see if they will do warrenty work cause a lot are not honoring warrenty anymore. which is total BS If you do the math right now you could save about ~ 6K
