I just went out and looked at mine and it looks fine. Here's a photo back when I first picked it up.

Mine also is like wrx's, also the "washi trim" is two diff. colors But i just got mine back from dealer for 2 count em 2 leaking windshields!!!!!

Now I have my case.
I say those who have the same problems, make an appointment with their dearler now. I would not settle for anything more than 1/16 in difference between the two trimmings.

 

Several magazines have rated the fit and finish of this car to be excellent. I don't have any problems with mine and never was bothered by the offset of the dash and door - it's just the styling.
