Hi Gang,

This is a question for all the more computer literate experts here. I have a laptop and would like to get an external USB card reader to load songs onto CF cards to play in the G. My question is do I need a reader and or writer and do I need any special software to transfers songs over or can I just drag and drop. Seeing I have other devices with different cards SD etc. I guess I would like one that reads many different formats. Any recommendations from the members would be greatly appreciated.

Just pick up a memory card reader that supports all the various card types. I picked mine up from eBay for $3 and it supports every memory card format. No software is required, you just drop and drag your MP3s over to it.

 

the multi-function card readers often show up as a set of extra drive volumes in windows. Each card type is a different drive. When you plug in the CF card, you can open that volume just like you can any other drive and drag-and-drop files onto it.

Does the G35 radio just read the music off the card or can you actually download the music on the card onto the music box? Thanks...

 

The CF card is just for playing music, unfortunately you can't use it to transfer music to the MB.
