Sport package w/ non-sport wheels

I am planning on buying an 08 to replace my 06 when it's lease is up. I really like everything the sport has to offer, the front in, bigger brakes, suspension, paddles etc, but I really don't want the sport wheels.

I am not that big on wheels, and even less so when I have to replace the tires and shell out crazy money for them. From what I have read around here there currently is only a few tires available in the sizes and replacing all four won't be cheap.

Other than buying the sport, selling my wheels on ebay and buying a new set w/ tires, what are my options? Will /can the dealership put the non-sport wheels and give me credit for the difference in cost. I figure they could always sell them to someone buying a non-sport that wants to do the opposite.

Do you think there is a chance Infiniti could change the wheels they put on the 08 model, maybe not making them staggard or maybe having more popular sizes?

Is it true that you can put 4 excact tires on all 4 sport wheels?

Thanks...

I doubt they'll change the set-up for '08.
I'd drive the stock ones, then when you need new, just get something else...

i doubt infiniti would give you credit for 17s for the sport model. You could try though. Otherwise, I drive 225/55-17s all the way around for winter (same size as the non-sport rims) and it's fine.

I have an 07 G35S 6MT and wanted the 17" wheels. My dealer, Grubbs Infiniti, in Euless, TX, swapped the wheels for me.

I actually wanted a 6-speed Journey, but since it was not an option, I've put Goodyear Eagle ResponseEdge grand touring tires on the 17" wheels. It's a good combination for my driving habits.

When I bought my Journey, the dealer would have LOVED to have had an extra set of wheels. They got my car in from another dealer and when it showed, it didnt have the 18" wheels. I was going to walk from the deal. So, they had to drop an extra $2,000 at the table for me to take the car with the 17s. So, I used the money to buy my aftermarket wheels and I still have the 17s in the shed; all while saving $2,000. The 18s are only a $400 option from the factory, so I think I came out pretty far ahead...

When I bought my 05 G coupe, it came with the 18" performance tires and rims. Since I live in Chicago, I really wanted all season tires so the dealer swapped out the 18s for 17s with all season tires. I didn't get a credit or anything but they were happy to swap them for me.

A buddy of mine bought a Journey with the wheel package, my guess is the dealer might work with you on them. BUT, you'd probably end up with close to $400 (why would they give you more than they could charge?).

If you keep them and sell them, you could make about a grand (that seems to be the going rate), but that probably wouldn't cover new wheels and tires.
