Is everyones MPG as bad as mine?
Ok I know this has been discussed but i am thinking this is a serious issue for a 3.5 V6. My gas goes down like nothing im at like 15-16MPG . Is there anyway to get better gas milleage besides keeping the RPM'S down? (any tricks of the trade) Honestly who here thinks the G has terrible gas milleage ? I am averaging about 80-100$ a week. I try to keep it filled or above 1/2 just for my phyche telling me if theres less air in the tank the gas will last longer
Can everyone give there opinion on whether they think they are getting good gas milleage? I remember Shane saying he gets pretty good numbers...has that changed?

I drive a combination of highway and city (probably 60/40 respectively), and I have been averaging about 11.8L per 100 Kms. That works out to about 20 MPG US. I have taken two longer trips with all highway driving and got over 26 MPG US each time.

I'm doing fine, getting between 18-26 on 70/30 hwy/city. Overall I'm averaging 22. but that includes a solid 15 minutes of warm up time a day. I am satisfied with the mileage compared to other vehicles on the road and I definitely knew what I was getting into, it's a fair trade off for the power and enjoyment this car delivers. Not to mention my Jeep Liberty only gets 16mpg.
I can offer some knowledge/advice.
1.) It gets slightly better over time, you may go up 2-3 mpg as the engine smooths out after 10-15K miles.
2.) There seems to be at highway speeds a fair amount range the gas pedal can be in while still giving you the same overall speed. When you reach the speed you want, ease off the pedal until the MPG on the instant read gets just over 20, then maintain that... you'll find the car still holds your speed within 5mph range but you'll average around 25mpg. Also don't ever take your foot off the gas because the engine break will pull you down quickly and you'll need to dump more gas in to get back up to speed. (I suspect this is where most people are loosing their MPGs) This car is designed to have a steady stream of gas put into it and you get your mpg over a flat average. where as most cars (good ol' Buick) you get to speed, coast, push back to speed, coast, repeat.
If you pay close attention to the instant read on the instrument cluster and make sure you provide a minimal, yet steady stream of gas and at the same time realize that this car does not coast what so ever; I think you'll find your MPG gets to 19-25, or possibly even better, I'm in fairly uneven and twisty highway and I average around 75 mph.
Lets us know if any of this works for you.

I get about the same amount. I have a heavy right foot. I think that's why i am not getting good gas mileage. I don't know about you. It is hard not to speed with the G...

I get 15.9-16.9 heavy footed daily city driving. One of my commutes is a 30 mile stretch through the hills and I set the cruise to 5 over the limit (60mph) and got a solid 22.5 to my destination and back. It's clear the car loves to go fast and of course it'll suck down all the gas you give it with that little pedal on the right. If you're gas conscious, take the lead insert out of your shoes

For the first 5,000 miles I was lucky to get 20mpg, typically it was between 18-20. After 5,000 miles I have not got less then 20mpg, and on my last fill I calculated 22.8mpg. As the weather here warms and the car continues to break in I suspect fuel economy will get a little better. Anything over 20mpg I think is a good deal on a car with over 300 ponies.
