I'm getting about 17-18 mpg total and I reset the calculator every fill-up. I know I could easily do better, but it's hard to have 306 horses and not use them.
I'm about 40% city/60% highway and I usually set my cruise at 80 on the highway with occasional sprints to 100.

I average 16-17mpg. 60% highway & 40% city driving.

I was expecting 20mpg at least

101, have you or anyone tried higher octane? Curious how the car reacts with it since it's designed around 91. I use 93, although I doubt there's really any difference between 91 & 93, but 10 more octane is over 10%, it's a considerable amount more.

I had 03.5 G35 for 4 years and never got over 18 mpg in city driving no matter how I drove it. I have a 335 coupe now and getting around 20 mpg driving the same route. Highway numbers with 335 are a bit better too: 30 vs. 26.

I get 19-21 mpg around town and 25-26 on the highway. When I drove a 2000 M5 on the same routes in the same style it got 16-18 around town and about 22 on the highway. So, the G35 is about 15% better than the M5 in fuel consumption.

I don't understand how anyone can be happy with <20 MPG on a 4 door commuter car.

Infiniti has always made gas guzzler vehicles, look at every single car in their lineup right now and the best of the bunch, the G35, equates to a Suburban or Ford Expedition in it's MPG numbers. I've been on this forum a while and even in the last car the numbers stated by the company always seemed higher than real world driving.

It's quite sad and IMO ruins an otherwise great car.

  • I get in, and push the button to start
  • Use the paddles to shift
  • Press the gas, and go really fast
  • Plus it's really comfortable
  • I'm delighted

Compared to those attributes, really couldn't care less about mpg. Different folks...

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

< = Greater than > = Less than

Ummmm...sorry no,

5 > 2 and 2 < 5 have exactly the same meaning the mouth opens to the greater of the 2 numbers.

I'm pushing 8k miles and I'm starting to see improved mpg. I was getting 17-18 and now I'm consistently getting 20.

Now I see! The more I drive, the better mileage I get. What a beautiful thing! I'll just drive and drive and drive...

Mpg

Considering that everyone here seems to be averaging between 16 and 22, I would say that is really good considering the weight and power of this car. I am hoping to purchase a G35 this year, but I am currently driving a 1997 Buick Skylark w/ 3.1L V6(155hp ), and I am averaging about 19 MPG with a pretty even city/highway split. Consider yourselves lucky

What planet did you learn math on?

<= is less than or equal to and >= is greater than or equal to < is less than and > is greater than.

It's also not a word, it's a symbol. If it makes you happy next time I'll type the words out for you.

All these stupid semantics still don't change the fact that the G35 has ****ty MPG.
