Exclamation Calling all 07 G35X owners!

It's SUMMER! Let's figure out how to disable AWD (the front wheels)! I know you have to take out some fuse...But which one?! How great would this be...a g35 RWD in the summer, and an AWD g35x in the winter, the perfect mix...Let's work on it!

I think you should keep the AWD. Summer means more rain... I guess that only matters depending on where you live but if I had the G35x, I would just leave it alone.

+1, my 05X saved my butt in an emergency situation during the summer, so mine stays intact.

understandable..but had i not been from cleveland, and had there been no such thing as winter, the g35S would be outside right now instead of the X

This is true, could always pop the fuse back in, but the risk is still there of them finding out.

Wow, i am surprised by all of the resistance. maybe im just All wheel drived out. After I finish this lease it will be 10 years combined with my WRX with an AWD car. I could have gotten the S, but the snow just makes the X seem so logical.

Just leave it alone dude.

If you think it's so logical, I don't know why you're thinking about it so much.
You're sure to get rain sometime, and you're gonna regret it like a mother if something happens to you in the rain.

It's not like it stays in AWD 24/7, it switches to RWD when it hits 30mph.

I'm sure you're not going to be driving like a grandpa when the road is dry so just leave it alone.

You have the perfect mix already.

Nissan specifically developed ATTESA E-TS so that it would act like a RWD under normal conditions like "summer" and be AWD in bad conditions like "winter".

In fact, ATTESA E-TS equipped cars are faster around the track than their RWD counterparts in all conditions. The best of both worlds.

I'll pass as well. Drove through a tornado cell on the way home from work yesterday and literally in 5 miles went from sunny to blinding rain which made the pavement slick as hell - then a mile down the road hail all over the place, people slipping and sliding and stopping under overpasses. Never been more happy to have AWD in the summer and popped on the snow mode just to make sure I didnt pop the gas too quick.

That makes the X an instant winner in my books. I hope you made it through the hail without any damage. I'm so afraid of hail hitting my baby that I sat at work for an extra 2 hours on Monday when I heard nickel sized hail was in the forecast.

Well,, I on the other hand would like to do this as well!!! However, I can tell you all this... pulling the fuse on a 07 G35 X loaner did NOT! disengage the AWD at all All it did was illuminate every lite on the dashboard!! allthough the car still drove, and when i was on dirt and trompt on it ALL the tires spun... We need a switch like in a Ford F-150 or expedition where you can have 2wd, and switch to automatic 4wd, ( like it is now).... I am all for this.... regards
