First service coming up...

Do I need to call them and make an appointment or can I just drive in and ask for the oil chance?

I did a search and people kept mentioning appointments... When I took in my dad's Toyota Sienna for oil changes/services I just had to drive up to the person and tell them I wanted this and that.

If you're local Infiniti dealership is anything like mine you'll need to book 2-3 weeks in advance.

Parkway Infiniti of Valencia I believe.

That's the closest one from my house and I'm going very near the dealer for work reasons. I wanted to see if I could just drop it off real quick and be done with it...

Is it okay to go over the miles a bit?

If I can't go today, I won't be able to make it until I hit 3900 miles or so.

Well the manual suggests the first service at 3750 so if you went at 3500 you were early.

Very near my first service (3100K) miles
Who's changing there own oil?
What oil filter and oil are you going to use?

Anyone using K&N (HP-1008) oil filter?

Is there anything you have to reset after reaching 3750K?

I'm thinking about just voiding the dealer for this charge ($90) for using synthetic oil.

I figure if I do it myself i'll learn my car better and save some money.

I just can't understand how a regular oil change is like $70.
(OEM nissan oil filter cost about $5 and regular 10W30 is about $2 to $4 a quart)

Is this your first car? Have you ever opened and read your car manual?

I was just wondering if anyone goes to Parkway Infiniti to get their services done and see how long it usually takes.

since I'm on my 3rd service (12k miles) I'll share my experience here in Sacramento, CA. both services were quick. the first at 3750 was in and out since it was just an oil change and basic inspection. It was a free service courtesy of the dealer. The second service at 7700 miles cost $120 and was basically and oil change, tire rotation, and a more extensive inspection. Took about 1 hour and in my opinion, not worth the $$ since it was a glorified oil change/tire rotation. My current inspection which I haven't set up yet is more like the last one but I'm planning on getting an oil change only since the 15k miles service is right around the corner, cost like $200 and pretty extensive.
