How do I answer in private when bluetooth is on?

Does anyone know how I can answer the phone without it going through the speakers even when I have bluetooth connected so that my passengers aren't listening in on my conversation?

Just answer the call normally then once the call has started use the steering wheel toggle to select use handset on the screen.

You can also turn off BT on the phone

Even better is if you have a BT headset which should take priority over the car.

Those will both work as well, but if you only need to speak privately for one call they're both a bit of a pain in the butt in my opinion.

On my phone, (VX9900 aka enV) after I answer the call, I can press the "Ok" button twice to switch to my phone. Just like how you can switch from the BT headset to your phone and vice versa.

Same here - if you press the PHONE answer button it should take over the call.

Do these exist? Isn't it up to the phone to decide priority? How does the headset even know about the car? It only knows about the phone, right?

I don't even know if one phone can be paired to 2 BT audio devices (car and headset) at the same time.

I think the first one to pair with the phone remains connected ..... gotta try it tonight.

It can't, but devices can priotorize like our G35's can with multiple phones. I am not aware of any phones that can priotorize like this. I guess it's possible a headset can connect to the phone and "kick off the current connection", but it seems more likely a phone with priotorizing is more feasible.

There actually is an option for the priority if you guys didn't know.

When you guys initially set up the phone to be paired with the BT system of the car, it asks you for the priority level.

On my Sony Ericsson K750i, I can switch to my phone even before the recipient answers. I can also switch in the middle of a call, too. Not sure about BT priority. I just bought a refurbished BT earpiece from this week from Woot.com.

This is correct, but this is only between your car and your phones. It has nothing to do with bt headsets at all and that priority. You cannot pair your bt headset, although I've never tried it.

Can you go into detail? If your phone is paired with your car and your in the middle of the call, you can open your headset and it will automatically switch over? Or do you need to manually end the bt session with your car and then pop open your headset and pair?

If you've got BT enabled and your phone is paired to your G, when you accept an incoming call you can switch to using the handset by using the touchscreen and selecting use "use handset" option. If you're using a flip phone just be sure to have your phone open prior to switching to the handset.

Or if you want, pull over and have your passengers get out while you answer your call!
