I have never been a user of cruise control, but a positive review a month or so ago tempted me to try the ACC. I was really impressed. The roads in the SF Bay Area are typically too busy to ever use cruise control. It's more trouble than it's worth, but the ACC works very well, apart from the disconcerting surge as previously mentioned.

 

That's what really impressed me as well...My first try was on a drive down the 405. I made it all the way from LA to my exit in OC, without touching the pedals. I never thought that would be possible.
