Yesterday I loaded two more CDs into the music box. I used the compact flash card to retreive text form the internet and installed titles and artist info. Today while driving to work I noticed that I cannot move from song to song with the steering wheel toggle or with the dial on the console. It simply moves to where ever it wants randomly to in the list of songs. I then notice that if I try to move back thru the list it will only allow me to go back as far as the start of the current song, no further. This is the same regardless of whether I am moving or not. I can select any song I want directly using the touch screen. Has anyone experienced this? Have I chenged the settings somehow?

 

1) The steering wheel toggle button will NEVER go back beyond the start of the current song when you are in (Music Box) "All playlists MIX." This bugs the heck out of me because sometimes you just accidentally hit it and then the song is gone.

2) I have noticed that if you have the Nav directions screen up the steering wheel toggle switch won't do anything to change songs either direction. You have to use the settings to remove the turn-by-turn split screen, then it will function.

Not sure if this helps, but these issues have bothered me too.

 

what do you mean never...steering wheel controls can go to the next song or to the song before it as well as change albums.

The OP might have random song selected somewhere in the settings and thats why its not going through the songs sequentially.

 

When I have "ALL Playlist MIX" (that's how it shows on the screen) selected - so it's not playing songs sequentially, it's randomly selecting tracks from all of the 30 or so albums I've uploaded to the hard drive - my steering wheel toggle will not go back to the previous song, only back to the start of the currently playing song. I'm not sure about the random song being selected in settings thing - please explain. Thanks.

 

The only devices that I have seen that can go to the previously playing track when in random play mode are those that create a play list first (iPod's etc).

 

Great explanation. That's what I thought might be the case. I was just used to the HK Drive&Play set up with my iPod that I had in my TSX where it would go back to previous songs even in random mode. Oh well, just a very small annoyance in an otherwise awesome car.
