Driving without FOB

I've always wondered this since I got the car. Sorry if its been asked already. I always start the car and then run back inside the house until the car gets warmed up or cooled down depending on the weather. But what happens in that short period of time a jacka$$ decides to sit in the car and drive off. How far can he get without the FOB in the car? I know the car will keep beeping saying there is no key but is that it? Or will it go into shut down mode after a period of time? What are the security precautions?

Just lock the door when you leave the car.

Other than that... he won't be able to start the car again if he turns the car off.

lol

you should treat the car running without the fob inside as you would treat a car running with the key inside the ignition...only good thing about not leaving the fob inside is like that other guy said the person whop steals it wont be able to start it again....unless they go to an infiniti dealer and pretend to be the owner and get some 18year old sucker to get them programmed a new key lol

Also the guy doesn't end up with whatever other keys are with your key fob, most importantly your house keys.

A little off the subject, but how hard do you think it is to steal our cars? A regular car you would need to pop the ignition, right? But on ours there's no ignition to pop and even if there were, the car wouldn't start unless a key was present inside the vehicle right?

Our car is just as easy to steal as any other car, nobody is going to try to get it started they'll just throw it on a flatbed.
