What do you guys think of this car?

I am going to look at it this weekend coming up. She is asking $35500 which I think is a bit too high so I am going to try to get her down to $30-32k if possible. sound reasonable? Kelly Blue Book says it is worth $30,500.

It just has premium and satellite, right?

If you can get her down to 30K it would be reasonable for what my opinion is worth. 13K miles is two years of driving for me so that may color my view a little bit.

Otherwise I would think you could pick up a brand new '07 at this time of year for her ASKING price. Or maybe even a little less.

It may be worth the extra bucks to get a new one.

IMO anyway. But whatever works for you and if you get it for your price, great.

Good luck...

thats what I was thinking. I know her price is high. On the infiniti website it is like 37k for prem. and nav and that is for the color I would rather have, (lakeshore). This is sport though so that is another like 1500 or so. But I agree with you guys. I want to get it down to 30k or I'll just have to suck it up and get a new one for a few thousand more. 13k is a little much for the car being so new, that is a little over a year of driving for me. I'll keep you guys updated on the deal.

and quick question. Is the nav. package really worth the $? Or would I be ok with a handheld (If I really needed it) and my Ipod. I would lose the voice stuff too I guess. But going from my '94 formula even the base g35 is really nice to me lol

773H no! that's way too much for a car with 13k. Infiniti is advertising .9% interest, and must be trying to close out 07's by now. Wait another month and get a new 07 for $30-31k or pay full price for an 08. $35K+ is too much IMO.

The car is beautiful. The seller is on crack. Like others have written, you could easily negotiate a brand spankin' new G35 Sport AT with Premium Package for that asking price. Plus, 13k miles is a lot for a car that's been out since late November '06.

Was it properly broken in? Age of driver(s)? No smoking in the car? No farting in the car? All maintenance records available? When was the first oil change? Any modifications done (and then quickly reversed before selling)? Did she buy the extended warranty which could have added a couple thou to the original purchase price? Will they show you their original purchase order indicating what they themselves paid (meaning not the MSRP window sticker)?

Buying a used Anything can be a crap shoot although to be fair from time to time there is a great deal to be had if you're in the right place at the right time and the seller is in their right mind by not asking too much to begin with. Thing about human nature though is people want to get ALL their money back if possible, even though they've "used up" that car a little bit that they're trying to transfer to you. If the price is too near a new one's they will never sell it - plus more thoughts just coming up: were there issues with the early production '07's that have since been addressed in the new cars? Any Lemon Law return attempts? When was this one built?

Even all the way out here in Hawaii you can buy a brand new and comparable Sport for $34,800 out-the-door including all taxes, fees, licensing, registration, safety check, yadda yadda. At least that's what I paid just a couple of months ago.

Good luck!

Thanks Mr Bulk, yea I told her I was not interested. Those were some good points you brought up. I do know she did not purchase the extended warranty. Did not think to ask about the smoking etc. I will if she comes back with a lower offer. But right now it looks like I am just going to keep saving for a new one. Thanks guys

I like that she mentions the intelligent all wheel drive on a G35S

I would knock the price down by 5k just for false advertising. I believe she mentions the car is all wheel drive and yet she describes the car as a G35S and the pictures say the same thing.

the seller obviously just cut and pasted from the infiniti website. she just clicked on the wrong car probably. cut some slack, mang.

that said, the price IS too high, particularly for the miles.
