power when car is off

Is there a way to get power from the cigarette lighter when the car is off? For example, when i go on vacation, if i wanted to charge my cell phone overnight in the car through the cigarette lighter, i can't right now.

no.

If it did work though, at least you can use your charged cell phone to call the roadside assistance number for the dead car battery.

+1 Having the power stay on for long periods of time (even aux) is not a great idea. You can change the power-on delay, but think the max is two or three minutes.

By an iGo Juice from Radio Shack, it powers my laptop, iPod and cell phone, from wall power, airplane, or car. That way you can plug it in at the hotel. Or, buy another battery

Oh yeah, bought something cool the other day. Home Depot has a power cube-type thing, that is a compressor, auto jump start, and also supplies AC power. If your concern is camping and thus no power, that would work well.
