Without even adding it to that list, you can access it with ease through voice command.

That cannot be said about the G.
AesonVirus, glad your hand is okay. It could have been a severed toe instead. As for the in-motion lockout, it's not really a function of the navi that is preventing it, it's more like a function of the car itself. There are other features beside navi that are locked out while in motion.

What really impresses people about the navi is the lane guidance that shows you how many lanes go straight or right, depending on your route, so you know exactly what lanes you need to be in with exitting or switching to another freeway.

I was using the navi last weekend and I input the correct address and it took me waaaaayyyy off from where we were supposed to end.

What's up with that? It was kind of embarassing considering the fact we had written directions (which were right) and in my infinite wisdom thought; maybe this thing knows a better way. Wrong........

Limitation of mapping technology... try putting it in Google maps and see if it gets any closer.

i bet it was a really long block. navi systems don't store individual addresses. they store stree number ranges across one block, and then just do an average across the start and end numbers on that block to estimate address location. so if you have a really long block, you can lose a lot of accuracy.

My car has more than the 5 options from the factory including hospitals...

While navigation may not get you there the quickest (each route is different) it will get you there 90% of the time. I have yet to have it take me to the wrong place, but I have had it not show up from the start (on my Pioneer AVIC-N2). Luckily the nav in the G has yet to leave me stranded. It is bound to happen, and hopefully my VCast Nav will be able to save the day (great nav system btw).

As for Google maps, the couple times I have used it has ended up being a HUGE pain in the **** one of which times I had a train of vehicles behind me while my excursion pulling my 4Runner on a huge trailer and I had to do multiple u-turns on back country roads in the mountains in the rain at 4am. I wasn't a happy camper... Needless to say there was a direct route that was all hiway... I will NEVER use google maps for directions EVER again. Mapquest ALL THE WAY! I hope others have not had such bad luck with google maps... (sorry for the rant)

I'm fairly sure that you can use the voice command and request "destination nearby hospitals" and it will show. Fairly sure, since you can do pretty much all the other nearby places that way.

And yeah, customizing that default list is a must... although for some reason I added "tourist attraction" or something like that to mine. Not that I ever use it.

After getting mine, less than a week ago, I had all of the destinations in the menu. I actually can not find the settings menu to get rid of a few.

I am a brand new owner, just got it yesterday.

In my old car I had a garmin Nuvi stuck to the daashboard, which I think is a lot better in many ways then my g35 navi.

I found that the included Infiniti First Aid kit is perfect for removing stiches!
Brought it into my office and used the scissors and tweezers to remove all of them while sitting at my desk.

Saved me $10- in co-pay at the doctor's office!

I think the OEM setup has its pros and cons, just like everything else.

Just like the CF slot, maybe some people like/own SD or micro-SD... and mp3 is good but it has its drawbacks, and what if you have iTunes?

I think for it being the first of the new batch, it's great. I hate some of the limitations but it is what it is...

What do/did you have in the Garmin that is a lot better?
