PSI on 18" Sport Wheels

So today the "low tire pressure light" turns on for the first time. I check the tire pressure and all my tires are reading between 28 - 32. I check the sidewall and it says the max PSI is 51??? Am I reading this right or what??? I don't recall ever filling a tire past 40 psi. Anyone out there know what's the recommended PSI?

Check the sticker on the door though I'm pretty sure it should be the same on all identical models.

The tire pressure will get higher while the tire is hot.
The sticker on the door labeled the "cold" tire pressure.
