Grow up people. It's a liability for Nissan/Infiniti. Annoying? - hell yes! But can you blame the manufacturer? Especially in this country where every Joe Schmo sues everybody and his mother for anything and everything. It only takes one multi million dollar lawsuit brought on by a moron who got himself into an accident because he messed around with the navi and didn't pay enough attention to the road.

I don't blame Nissan one bit for covering their a$$es.
Make that +3 Speeed, I avoided commenting on this thread because I really don't see the big deal. You took the words right out of my mouth.

Wayne, how do you think the person that posted about activating the nav while negotiating a turn can press the nav button on the dash but he isn't coordinated enough to press enter on the steering wheel?

This is not whining folks. There is a design flaw!
Using the voice activation does not completely bypass it.
The fact is that even if you use voice activation while driving it only allows to assess the first 4 or 5 listings. Why can't you assess all of the functions using voice?

^^ Whining. It isn't a design flaw it's something that Infiniti planned as a safety feature. There are many studies that have show that talking on a cell phone (even with hands free) is far more distracting and dangerous than talking to a passenger in the car. I can only imagine how many people would crash while staring at the nav screen to pick a restaurant.

Then maybe they shouldn't make a navigation system at all
Or have any sort of screen in the middle, since we will be staring at it the screen and crash our cars.

It's a very fine line between luxurious convenience and safety. And that line is drawn by the manufacturer according to its sole discretion stemming out of liability reasons (I can't blame them). All that is left for us the consumers do, is to either love it, live with it, or move on to the next brand (circle one).

Make your choice.

No one forced you to buy the Navi....unless you pre-ordered the car before launch, you had ample time to test the Navi and learn more about its functions and limitations...

No offense, but just because something doesn't work the way YOU want it to doesn't make it a flaw.

I don't think there's a real need to be scared. People will only get on you if you ask a question that's been asked numerous times (people only like to answer an question once)...and on a topic like the navigation's limitations, where the topic has been pretty much beaten to death, people get more irritated.

People are here to help, just make sure you fully utilize the search feature to make sure the question or topic hasnt been asked. If you search and couldnt find it and ask the question, people will help and/or lead you to where the answer can be found (like an earlier thread). the problem is that most people don't bother searching, they just post.

Don't feel afraid to ask questions here bro, after all that is what this forum is all about. For the record, there was nothing wrong with your question in this thread. I would send a PM to KPierson. He had a work around for the Navi warning on the 1st gen G, and I think he has one available for the 2nd gen G as well. He'll be able to confirm that for sure though.

Piranhag, your question was well in place, justified and understandable (considering the fact that this question has been raised many times in the past). The rest of the responses made here were not against you nor addressing your question. They were aimed towards those who tend to make a big fuss out of pressing a button. The short answer is no. There is no way to disable this warning. However, like GarnetCanuck said you may PM KPTechnolgies as they have an aftermarket retrofit to bypass this warning.

Good luck.

Ofcoarse we can blame them! We do what we want! Other car companies don't have to do that and can use... once you hit accept, their liability is gone and you should be able to use moving or not!

It's true...you can do whatever you want and you can blame them...you just wont get much sympathy from the people here then... Also, the only company that has no restrictions is Honda/Acura. BMW, MB, Lexus all have restrictions on use when driving....it's not like everyone else but Inifiniti has no restrictions.
