Oil Change? Out of curiosity

Took my 07 Sport in this morning to get oil change at 3700 miles, they quoted $45.

Does that seem about right for an oil change?

And BTW, for the ICC surge TSB fix, not only does you VIN and build-before date have to qualify, but look on page 6 for the ECM P/N. Mine was JK61A and not on that list, so they couldn't do the fix.

^^ Only if the dealership is offering that program, which is completely their choice. I paid CDN$85 for my first service.

My first service was free also, but I was told starndard oil change is $40 and if you want Mobile 1 or a nice synthetic it's $75...but you have to request the upgrade. I say DIY! I will attempt my first oil change on this car in another couple thousand miles... not first oil change btw, just on this car

Mobil 1 (NO E) is "nice" synthetic oil.

I did my first oil change on my own. But a service station quoted me $45 to use mobil 1.

So I'm due for my 11,500 mile service. Is this really necessary?

If you guys check your local dealer for coupons, you can get the oil change for 25 dollars plus car wash too.

for all you guys that live in LA area go to Santa Monica Dealer website and look for the coupons. very cheap.

Sorry to hear you need to pay for an oil change. My dealer provides me with complimentary oil changes for he life of my ownership. With that said, I remember that Nissan used to charge me $39 for oil changes when I had my Maxima, so $45 sounds about right for a "luxury" brand.

I do every thing needed on all of my cars myself. So oil change would run me about $20. I don't trust the dealers and anybody for that matter.
