I love my iPod - my only gripe is having to actually use my iPod to change through songs...it will be nicer when the rumored iPod interface is released for the '07 so I can browse using my touch screen.

Other than that, it's great. Who wouldn't want their whole music collection in their car for a long drive - or for that one time you get that urge to listen to that ONE obscure song while driving home from work? Plus, you can use your iPod other than just in your car.

As for the video function, I still haven't gotten this to work, even with the car in park and the brake applied...anyone know what the deal is? Can the G35 not display m4v videos?

^^ If you mean the input, it's inside the arm rest. If you mean the output you need a video cable that hooks up to the dock connector on the iPod.

you should try and wait till september for an ipod. thats usually when apple debuts their new products. if the touchscreen isnt released, they should at least have a video ipod thats updated a little. i got my ipod video then the very next year they released one with a much better battery.

Excellent summary, I feel exactly the same way. Only have to synch one item, has all of our music on it, and sounds fine. The only change I would make is if there is an upgrade available for the '07s that allow control on the screen - would definitely buy that.

Apple is having a press conference on the 5th. There is a good chance that the next gen ipods will be shown.

I'm looking forward to seeing the next iPod, my iPod is definitely getting dated (60GB iPod Photo) and I'm thinking about getting a new one for my trip to Taiwan in November.

Ooops sorry for editing your post, I meant to hit quote. At least I was able to put it back.

For audio only I use:
http://www.sendstation.com/us/produc...neout-usb.html

It came with a stereo mini to rca adapter cable which plugs into the red and white plugs in the G. The yellow is for video and you'll need a different adapter for that.

I love my ipod video, but my Archos absolutely destroys it for versatility. You can record anything, tv, satellite, cable, dvd, vhs, music, itunes encoded files, etc. Literally anything you want. It also has wifi. You can also get one with up to 160gb hard drive.

Ya the Archos is ok, I had a 705 for 2 days but returned it because it was too big to carry. I wasn't particularly fond of the software and the button layout isn't easy to use with out looking at it like the iPod.

I've searched for days through the posts about an IPOD interface for my 2007coupe without SAT. Does anyone actually have something installed that works well that doesn't cost a fortune?
I love my IPOD and I would really like to use it in my new car.

Thanks,

Steve
