I agree with Sound Man. Foot at the top of the accelerator pedal reduces lurching. As I've posted here and elsewhere, the pedal is hinged at the top, not the bottom as are most pedals. Hence the need to push toward the top of the pedal.

The car has a drive-by-wire system, which suppose to interpret deeper depresses as a request for quicker take offs. What good is a car with 306hp if you can't launch it properly? I've never had a single issue with any jerks or anything of that sort. But then again, I never tried to put mascara on while launching the car...
