Question about climate control

(sorry for the duplicate, I am new to this forum and not sure which discussion my post belongs to. I posted my question on the tech sub forum too.)

I noticed an annoying problem of my climate control. When I turned off the A/C, the fans blew out HOT air, while the actual outside temperature is about 72F. How come? Why can't I simply get the same fresh air from outside? It is still hot air even if I set the temp very low (without A/C). Is it a defect of the air ventilation system?

Another side problem I noticed but found the answer in the manual. The outside temp displayed on dot matrix lcd is way above the actual temp (85F vs. actual 72F). The manual says the outside temp sensor will be affected by many other factors (e.g. engine) because it is placed in front of the radiator (is it a stupid design???).

I am not sure if these two problems are related. I appreciate any of your informatio. Thanks a lot.

My car is about one month new. 2007 G35x + navi. package + tech. package.

Not sure, but my 05 Coupe always did this too, 70 outside but blowing warm to hot air. I haven't noticed it as much in the new G.

And for the temp reading, mines all over the board too. Sitting in traffic it will jump to 95 when its only 80 out. and after leaving a car wash it will say 70 for half an hour when its 95 out. Yes, I think it's a stupid placement.

It's not unheard of for outside temp to be a certain degree and the surface level to be way hotter. For instance in sporting events such as Nascar, the outside temp could be warm, in 80's or so and the track temp could be 10 degrees or hotter. If you're stuck in traffic, the heat from the asphalt and heat from surrounding cars can easily make the temp that the car picks up much hotter.

I hate the climate control. I can never get comfortable.
