I don't know why you guys are getting ticked about it. Chances are the 09 MY will offer something that the 08s don't have. You've got to take the plunge at some point or else you'll always be waiting for the latest thing.

Well I would have either gotten mine about a month or 2 ago, or in a couple weeks... so it wasn't too bad for me. Just the decision of buying a new '08 vs. a 'left over' '07 w/ a possible larger discount.

I already call my car a one ton 9.8 (or however big it is) gig $40,000 iPod. If I could easily integrate an actual iPod to my car then it'd be a $40,000 one ton uber iPod.

Guys and gals,

Calm down.

Before I ordered my x last October, I researched thoroughly about ipod integration. I got a NO as an answer.

I didn't even order the Tech Package.

I am happily living with changing my 6 mp3 CDs. I had an mp3 CD deck in my old car anyway, so, it is easy for me to continue to burn these CDs. Work out to be much cheaper than an iPod. No recharging. No cables.

Hey we are enjoying our 07 a year before the 08 owners! Think positive! By the way my car would be exactly ONE year young in 33 days.

Shane i dont know if you use an ipod in your 07 but just think about how much easier it will be to navigate thru all ur albums and songs via the LCD screen not only is it more safe but more practical...only reason im complaining is cuz i love my ipod i have everything i can think of on it and it is the soul of my entertainment in my car...so i get alittle upset knowing the upgrade is out there and i might not be able to get it on my 07.

Yeah, I hear ya Juan......and completely agree that it would make iPod user's life much easier.....there's no question about it.

I guess my point is that if you went out and bought an 08 today with full iPod integration, next year when the 09s are released, there will be a feature that you wish your 08 had. Unfortunately, we are fighting a losing battle if we always want to have the latest and greatest.

Btw, won't there an iPod kit available for the 07s? I haven't kept up on it, so I could be wrong.

The only reason that I'd be glad that I would have waited so long. Sport + AWD.

'nuff said.

Someone in forum land said their dealer told them that a ipod upgrade kit will be around. . .is it true who knows and at what cost who knows . . .im sure it will be pricey. . .i hope not more than the ipod itself. . .

^^ This thread and everything in it is a discussion of the 2008 G35 Sedan, not the G37. G37 discussions do indeed belong at myg37.com.

Yeah - this is about the 07+ G35 sedan, specifically the 08 sedan which gets the killer ipod feature.

If you check out bostonmerlin's video on the G37 forum, it appears that the iPod integration is very well done. However, he has indicated that it is inconvenient to scroll through long lists of songs, albums, artists, etc. as there is no option to jump to say the letter "Y". If you have over 100 artists, to get to "Yaz", you have to scroll forever.

So, while it works really well for the first 20 or so songs, artists, albums, etc., more than that and it gets cumbersome. In fact, I'm thinking once I get my 08 G, I may just plug my iPod into the standard aux input and use the iPod itself for controls.

Why wait a year for ipod intergration?Believe me i love my ipod and iphone but the ipod intergration does'nt make me regret my 07.I don't really use my ipod for music(xm radio or cd's) mostly video, so it does'nt really effect me either way.
You can't have everything.
