Grille covering

Since our grilles chip so easily, anybody ever thought of covering the grille with this stuff:

Seems a little more interesting (more durable?) than painting.

Too rice?

I think just getting it covered with clear-bra (3M) would be the answer. I like the look of the stock grille.

Since you guys are talking grilles looks like the 08 G35 is going to be available with a black grille with chrome trim. That should help with paint chips. Although the Infiniti site is also has pictures of G35's with the chrome grille. Very confusing. Maybe the black grille comes with the Sport packaged G's.

I'm pretty sure that's an optical illusion. If you look at most of the pictures of our 2007 G's you'll see the same effect.

I think it is too rice. They replaced my grille last winter since that no chip on the new one. I am happy with mine.
