Seriously? $6200 off MSRP and you're still paying $1000 OVER invoice?

From where are you obtaining your invoice data?

My car was offered at just around $32,000 (ending at $34,400 after TT&L), the MSRP was around 39,000, and the invoice, per edmunds, is just at 35,500(all just ballkparks, so don't dig into me if the number don't quite add up perfectly).

The difference between MSRP and Invoice for my car, at Edmunds, was about $3500, so I'm not sure how at $6200 off you're STILL $1,000 over invoice? Telling me that at MSRP Infiniti's selling for $7300 OVER INVOICE? Boy, they must have the highest profit margin's in the business.

Not trying to be a jerk here, perhaps someone has some data other than Edmunds that could better educate me, but from what I"m seeing on their site, if it's accurate, I can't believe the statement that with a $6200 dollar discount you're STILL over invoice. Have you called to ask for a dealer spec sheet for the MSRP of all installed options and the related "dealer" invoice (which is still not going to be a true invoice price, but gets you closer...?

Good luck, i really DID have a good experience with the Crest guys, hope you have the same if you can come to an agreeable price with them.

Well, the price I was quoted was:
$37,985.00 (MSRP) with prem, sport, tint job and the price before TTL and stuff was $31,700.
So for this MSRP, the invoice is $34,500 (edmund data).
So if the price I want at least to pay is invoice and after that cash rebates, I would get $34,500 minus $4000 that is $30,500.
So the price quoted was $1,200 over invoice (because in the $6200 it includes the 4k of cash rebate).

Of course I want a good experience but as I said, I really think that paying more than invoice before the cash rebates is a bad deal

Negotiating Premium Vehicles down to Invoice BEFORE discounts

Ahh...you were accounting for the cash rebates. I see where you are coming from now.

Well, if you can negotiate an Infiniti class of car at near invoice price, kudos to you! I've had remarkable luck doing this with all types of non-premium vehicles, Toyota Camry's, Honda Accords, Ford Ranger, but could NEVER get a vehicle in the premium category at this "invoice" price point before discounts (or even when no discounts are present).

I've seen stories that it can happen from time to time (if the dealership just wants to really aggressivly move vehicles), but I think overall it's just much more difficult to accomplish once you get above the 30K price point for vehicles. If you can swing it for an Infiniti, hats off to you and I'd welcome any advice you have. Good luck, hope you find the car you're looking for!

well I am just a newbie, it is my first new car, plus I new in the country, and the English is not my mother tongue so that 's why I just did that over the Internet. But I will need to go to see the dealer (I need to test drive the car anyway) in order to "really" negotiate ie, pull $500 off the price lol
I want this car so, I will not have the choice and I will just buy some vaseline before signing the check

Plus you were able to negotiate invoice + only $500 ... for me it is more than the double lool

Well, Enlish as your "mother" tongue or not, you sure do have the american "vaseline" euphamism down just right. Or maybe that's just global / universal to all cultures and tongues.

I often use carsdirect.com for all of this kind of stuff. Easy to use. Very clear when it comes to what's in option packages, etc. Try it out, although the '08's are not there anymore.

Got the G down to 31.5K, but wife is having 2nd thoughts. She'd rather keep her 2002 LL Bean with 138K. Granted it still drives fine, but I was hoping she'd want to part with it. She says she'll keep it awhile longer. I told her that it was only going to cost more in the long run to wait it out, but she is pretty firm. I'm a little ticked, but that' married life I guess.

My wife still likes the roominess of her '95 Maxima. While it's got almost 167K miles, it's in good mechanical condition and we are the original owners! It's so reliable, it's not going to cost us anything more. It also gives us plenty of time to continue building up a healthy down payment!

Married life has it's advantages...

So you got the cash rebates on the G35X AND the 0.9% financing as well?

Just picked up my car from Niello.

G35 Journey, with Premium Package.
5k down.
Listed MSRP: 36,230.
- discount: 6000
Final price: 30,230 + TTL.

If I took the 0.9% interest, I would only get a 3k discount. Took a 5% interest with the 6k off.

Thanks
The irest internet guy quoted me $31.700 + TTLs for the same configuration, that is $33,900 OTD.
I will probably go on the premium + tire and wheel package and I will add the spoiler later I should be at invoice minus the incentives, so it is in my budget !
Hope you will love the car. I am still waiting for my money (I am a french guy so I am waiting for a good currency rate before wiring my money).

I can not wait !!!
