Sure would. In fact, I usually do. I always buy black cars. Yes they show dust quickly, but when they are clean...man, there's nothing sharper. I currently have a black Pathfinder and my G is Blue Slate. Although I do like BS, black was my first choice. I just didn't want to wait for months to get one.

Thanks for everyone's input. Many proud owers of blue slate. I finally decided to wait for the next inventory to come around and pick up my first color choice graphite or IP. It's hard to be patient.

Better to be patient than have regrets about a color you aren't overly thrilled with. It's not like this a $200 bicycle.

2 pages of Blue Slate praise and you end up deciding on graphite or IP

LOL

It was a super hard decision for me as well, but I'm happy I waited the dreaded wait and got my first choice.
Graphite was my second choice but the more I saw them, the more I realized that I kept thinking it was an Altima, due to that color.
IP.... just too many around here.
The Blue Slate is getting to be really popular now as well.

Platinum Graphite 08

Ijust purchased a 2008 G35 in Platinum Graphite. I wanted the Blue Slate, but when I saw the Platinum Graphite I was amazed at how good it looks. They are both awesome colors on the car and it was a hard choice. I went with the graphite color because I thought it looked a sharper and it hid dust/dirt easier when I put mud on the car (sals guy loved that).

Either way you can't go wrong though. They both look nice day and nighttime, when the sun goes down on it.

I have never owned a black car, but my previous vehicle was a 2005 G35 Sedan in Diamond Graphite. The DG was so much easier to take care of than the Blue Slate. You can see dirt and scratches easily. On the other end of it, the color is quite unique and beautiful. I am glad that I didn't get the same Diamond Graphite aka Platinum Graphite, which was my second choice.

i am planning to get a blue slate as well because of the uniqueness but plan to maintain it with weekly washes. as long as it isnt as bad as the stories of black cars then its fine.

Talk about it being a popular colour...there are 4 Blue Onyx/Slate G35's in my neighbourhood alone...one is identical to mine (G35x, same pckgs. and tint).

I'd say the blue slate might be just a little easier. Water spots might be a little less evident, but scratches/swirl marks are the same. I'm pretty picky and wash when dirty (at least once per week), so I probably put in the same amount of time regardless of color.

I like the blue slate, but will go back to black on my next car.

Prevention: Wash frequently, hand wash only (touchless/laser wash ok in a pinch), 100% cotton or microfiber towles, always have protective coat of wax

Repair: I've had luck w/ Meguires Scratch X. I'm sure others have suggestions as well

And be sure to use a 2 bucket system
One for soapy water and one for clean water, used for rinsing your mitt between sections.

OK finally got it! Waited a month for a Graphite on graphite with sports, premium, and Nav. So far it's been a great ride!
