08 G35x AWD's Sport Package. Does it actually improves performance? What's included?
Hi All.
I'm looking to buy my 1st Infiniti this week.
What EXACTLY does the Sport Package include on the 2008 G35x AWD?
Does it actually IMPROVE performance?
Or is it just looks?
When will the 2008 G35x with the Sport Package actually hit showroom floors?
Thanks in advance.

From my research,
I think the ONLY feature Infiniti includes in the Sport Package for the G35x that actually improves performance is the +1" diameter wheels and tires.
I do not believe the other performance upgrades are given to the X.
In other words, the improved rear diff., the bigger brakes, and the stiffer suspension ARE NOT included in the Sport Package for the G35x.
Please correct me if I am wrong.
If my understanding is correct,
I'll save the money I'd have spent on the Sport Package and put it towards other mods. (Springs, Shocks, Wider+Larger wheels and tires, remote start)

For the 07 G Sport I could not find any mention of a stiffer suspension on infiniti.com or in the 07 brochure. So if you are getting your info from the website just because it's not listed for the 08X does not mean it's not there.

It is different. See spec matrix in Infinitihelp.com. After finding this out, I did some research on geometry tunning. It is very technical. It does not elude to the suspension being harder but suggests better opposing reaction to latteral forces.
FTR, Geometry tuning is one of those things that if you are slightly off, you will ruin your front tires.

Car & Driver did a test where they took a car (I think it was a Porsche 944), and outfitted it with 15", 17" and 19" wheel & tire packages to see if handling got any better with the lower profile tires.
Can you guess what the answer was? Um, not much. In fact, there was barely any performance improvement, just a cosmetic improvement.
You can probably get better handling with WIDER wheels and tires; does the sport package give you that option?
I'll see if I can find any web links but I remember reading the article.
