Just won my first race in the G!!!
Went to an 1/8th mile track, where there was a King of the Street competition. I was in the Import N/A class. All Civics my G!!!
I was surprised by my time, based on what others have reported. Here's the details from the time slip.
Pro Street light, all 3 yellows at once, then green.
Reaction .703
60 ft 2.093
330 ft 5.903
594 ft 8.469
1/8 ET 9.020 @ 81.68mph!!!!
Those 8 sec. times are oh, so close!!!
Won $200 and got a cool trophy made from a gas pump handle!!

Not bad. This car is consistently in the low 9's for the 1/8th. See my runs: https://g35driver.com/forums/showthr...=182346&page=2

Looks real similar to my runs. Your MPH at 1/8mi seems low, but the track I was at is usually about 2mph fast.Originally Posted by kmuniz78

I have no idea of what mods I need to do besides intake and exhaust to shave about 1/10 from my ET.
I've always had forced induction vehicles, so the mods came easy.

Not to steal a thread started by another, but my runs were all in A/T. Trying the DS mode later.

I have an A/T. Used Paddle shifters and shifted at 6900 all shifts. Launched at 1900 RPM using the 1,2,floor method on the throttle. Track was hooking up like crazy, so I had very little wheel spin. Hell, the Civics were spinning more than me!!!Originally Posted by aozmaxed
Niiiice!! Great job! Where are your shift points?

Aozmaxed, I noticed in your sig. you have a WRX. There were two running 8.07 1/8th et. That's impressive!! One actually eliminated my buddy's GTP in the semi -finals. His Grand Prix was running 8.44. He has ran a 12.94 1/4 before.

Why do you short shift at 6900 instead of 7600?
Also, why not just leave it in D or DS?
Every other car out there (that I know of) with some sort of "auto stick" mode is faster when just left in D and shifted at redline.

When you shift, there is a minor delay for the transmission to react, while the car is still revving. If I shift any higher than that, I run a good risk of hitting the rev limiter, causing a loss in power. As I watched the tach, a 6900 shift point actually did not shift until 7400-7500. I don't think it's because our tranny is slow to react, but the fact that the VQHR revs so damn quick.Originally Posted by silverG2007

As far as leaving it in auto, I could only do 9.178, 9.181,and 9.156 in auto. Using paddles got me 9.02, 9.033, and 9.056, and the car actually hit the rev limiter once in DS auto.

What were your 60' and mph for the times you were in just regular auto?

Believe it or not, my 60' times were not that different. My best 60' was 2.060,but that was with a 9.033 ET. The 60' times in auto were in the low 2.1's.Originally Posted by silverG2007
