It dented the heck out of the front of the hood, but didn't break the paint!
Haven't had the same robustness with paint on my G. No way, no how.

My parents have 2 A8's (2000 & 2004) and both look like new when you give them a good wash.
Hm.. Let me go out and test one. I have to find my tire iron.

You made me look.
After only after 2600 miles, including 1,300 from Long Island, NY to Ft Lauderdale, FL, I can see a few chips.
This is not a good thing.
Is there an Official Policy from Infinity Central, or is it a dealer by dealer resolution?

Mine had chipped and pitted very badly and I do not tailgate. I have never had a grill chip like that on any previous car I owned, especially that fast
.
The good thing is, the grill was replaced without a hassle and the new one seems to be doing a bit better.

I plan to do this as well after I get a replacement in spring.
How long does it take you to swap the grille? I thought I remember someone saying it was like a 10 minute job.

I have 2008 g35 for over 3 months now and the front chrome grill have many chips!
I owned a Toyota Tacoma truck for 7 years before buying the G. The front chrome grill on the tacoma is plastic too but there are no, nothing, zero chip on the 7 years old grill!
The problem is the chrome paint on G sedan is not strong enough to withstand flying debris. Infiniti should get another manufacturer to make these chrome grills. Obviously the current G sedan grill maker is very poor at making quality durable chrome finish.
