Does the base G35x come with a touchscreen?
If not, what's the minimum options you need to get a touchscreen?


I would like use a touchscreen keyboard to type in the title of a song or the name of an artist to go directly to a MP3.

Does the 07+ G35x offer the ability to search Mp3's (i-pod, discs, etc) with a keyboard on the touchscreen?

I believe that touchscreen only included with the Nav? You can control everything in the car via the touch screen. Personally I love that option, rarely use the gauges and buttons, almost always the screen.

 

So, the touchscreen does NOT come with the base or premium packaged G35x for 2008?
So, the ONLY way to get a tochscreen on a 2008 G35x is to order the Navigation package?


Is there a way to bring up a "virtual keyboard" on the stock 2008 G35x touchscreen to type in either song titles or artist names so you can go DIRECTLY to a song or artist?

 

It was my impression that the touchscreen was available on all 07+ G35's.

And yes, you can search for songs saved on the harddrive. You can also sort them by artist and genre if you took the time to assign a genre to each individual song.

 

^ That is correct.

The base '07 has a color screen but it is not touch screen. I had a loaner two weeks ago and the screen wasn't touch sensitive.
